WORKING TOGETHER
FOR A BETTER LIFE

The Society is working in conjunction with the Malcolm Sargent Primary School to encourage Stamford children to understand the history of their town, and take an interest in its future. The partnership started in 2009, with a competition to create a logo and a motto for the partnership, and the winning entries are displayed on this page.

The logo is a combination of the CiVic Society logo, plus the carnations from the school logo.

The motto sums up the aims of the partnership, to bring the generations together.

The first project from the new partnership, involved all the children in making a sculpture on the theme of ‘Influences From Stamford’s Past: Sculpture Project’.

Children worked alongside members of the Civic Society, researching the history of Stamford, and collecting ideas for a theme for the design. The School Council also collected ideas on the design of the sculpture. A small group of children were then involved in making the sculpture with the help of a professional artist who has experience of working with children on such projects.

The finished sculpture is being placed at the front entrance to the school.
