The Society is seeking a new Chairman to replace Gwyneth Gibbs, who is retiring from the role later this year.
The new Chairman will be an enthusiastic advocate for the preservation and enhancement of Stamford. This is an important voluntary role that would suit somebody with experience of chairing Boards, Committees and public meetings.
There is also a “behind the scenes” time commitment, liaising with many local stakeholders on matters of common interest, managing the Society’s responses to current planning applications, communicating with members and the press, and leading project work. The new Chairman does not necessarily need to be professionally qualified as an architect, historian or other specialist.
